Good grief, I wouldn't call myself an expert. This one isn't anything I'd enter in a competition (if I did enter competitions). The best you could call this one is competent, and I only got there by being slow and patient. As all modelling should be.

I can assure you, Graeme, that I have not the slightest urge, not even the twinge of one, to make more 747 models than I need to. I'm looking at the three kits yet to go and thinking, 'Do I have to'. But, exercising an abnormal amount of self discipline, I'm not even doing the basic research or looking at the kits and decals for what I have planned next, my 727 project. We don't want to have a collection of white airliner hanging in the cupboard waiting for completion as one well known modeller does.

You may well be right, I can't see any evidence on the interweb that anyone else has used those Brazil Decals decals.

Here, at last, is the completed 747-400 Wunala Dreaming.

This is not a project that I would recommend to anyone with a weak constitution or anyone who wants to make a perfect replica of Wunala Dreaming. As is often the case with modelling, a series of small problems compounded to make completing this one a bit of a nightmare but, as is also the case with many models, the problems were mainly of my own making. But it doesn't look too bad.

Continuing on with the decal business. The Brazil Decals window decals look dreadful on the model and I had to settle with the Draw decals window set for this kit. What would be best would be black windows with silver outlines, but I didn't have any and I was more interested in getting this one done and off my work table than ferreting around for something better. You might do better with these decals. If you do, I will salute your modelling skills.

Great Job. :D
Congratulations, and thanks for your efforts.

Almost makes me put on the "old" uniform and jump in for a fly. :)

Nice result Leigh.

Would love to do one myself but getting the decals would be the challenge. And all the fettling to get it to look right!

Good work mate. I have the 737 version to do from the same mob.

At last, here's the next one in the series, a 747-400F. The only complex thing about this kit is using the upper deck from the 747-100 kit used to make the 747-300 by cutting the upper deck off a 747-400. When I made the 747-300 the -400 upper deck fitted without any problem but this time around the -100 upper deck did not fit so easily on the -400 fuselage. Still, that's what modelling is all about. The decals are Draw Decals. For once I read the instructions which talked about using very hot water to soften the ink in the decals to make them settle down. It worked magnificently. Even at my advanced years there are still new things to learn about modelling.

Next is a 747-8F, probably in Korean Airlines colours. I just opened the box of the Revell kit. OMG. So many pieces. This is going to take some time
