Welcome back young Wal, I was wondering where you were the last couple of months.
Very true comments regarding retirement mate, make the most of what you love whilst still being able to enjoy it.

Cheers
Wayne.

Just imagine if it was a model show that just has the same models entered year after year. It would get boring pretty fast to the people most into it.

Yours is a good point Brad - particularly for the likes of us who know a bit about these aeroplanes and attend our fair share of airshows. I do think the bulk of the attendees largely don't really care or know - they just like fast and loud machines whizzing over their heads and that's cool too. We are spoilt to a degree here too - let's face it, there aren't that many P-40's, Spitfires and there is only one Hudson flying in the world currently. There are alway the aerobatic and formation displays - it's more the rare stuff I enjoy seeing, in particular seeing the Hudson flying on this occasion. Attendance cost and what is scheduled for display are very important points - one any air show organiser must take into consideration. I must say it was great to see participation by the ADF with one Roulette solo display and the "Romeo" MH-60R display. Overall it was a very well run air show - yes getting a bit on the expensive side and yes would be nice to see some more new stuff - in particular I'm still hanging to see the Fw-190 and would gladly pay $55 to see it in flight - even static would do! I'll be posting some pic's soon after quick editing.

Adam or any other A/Cam members, just out of interest is the Fw-190 BMW powered ( probably not as there is only one original flying BMW powered Fw-190 that I know of) or have the restoration guys opted for the Russian ( the more affordable and easier to source) engine?

The local Fw has a Chinese built version of the ASh-82 engine - plenty of giddy up n go! Only one Fw-190 is flying with a original BMW-801 engine - Paul Allen's Fw-190A5 - guessing you know this! I believe there is another restoration happening in USA that will include a BMW powered 190 as well.

Paul Allen's 190.

Thanks Adam for that info and a great photo. I thought the local Fw-190 may have had the Russian engine, never thought about the Chinese built version.
Listening to both the German and Russian engines you can discern a difference in their sounds IMHO. Both sound great to me anyway.

Once I saw the program I decided to not go. Not paying $75 for me and the young one to attend the same thing. Went to Yarram the other day and had a much better time!
