You wouldn't understand technical stuff like that so I won't explain it. As for model building, that won't be happening as I'm in PNG again for 4 weeks.

Good luck up north and absolutely don't bother trying to explain any techno-airplane stuff to me like how does the chromed thrust buckets connect to the shiny spring widgets.

Hey! It's all ball bearings nowadays. Now you prepare that Fetzer valve with some 3-in-1 oil and some gauze pads. And I'm gonna need 'bout ten quarts of anti-freeze, preferably Prestone. No, no make that Quaker State.

OK guys,
So in an effort to get a Beech Baron model I have acquired a little, old, banged-up Dinky example with a view to re-furbing/re-finishing it.

Now.....has anyone ever attempted the refurb of a diecast metal model such as this, and if so......
- Is it viable to use Miliput to bog gaps??
- What would be the best undercoat/primer to use??
- What would be the best way to replicate the missing engine bay cover, (as can be seen, one is missing).

It might be worthwhile to talk with some of the people over on the Diecast Car Forum or see if there are any Articles in the Diecast Magazine on refurbing Diecast Models.

My guess (based on experience from years ago wasting my youth fixing up cars) is it would be like refurbing a real car in that the good Automotive/metal bogs (the old Plastibond for example had a high Styrene percent content and could also be thinned from an almost solid to being able to be poured such as for moulding - I know I did it back then just ask Graeme but there were quality issues if you didn't get the thinning right) and paints and techniques should work well on a Diecast model.

As that bloke said to Liam Neeson "Good Luck".

Or for a bigger dint in your Credit Card (and to fly around your hangar if it's big enough!):
