Well what are you going to do when Academy release the whole range of 1/48 F4s. Then you'll be in trouble

Times are good for "Double Ugly" lovers! Zoukei Mura are also working on a 1/48 F-4C as well apparently! ZM make pretty nice kits Paul!

Already got a couple of Academy kits in the stash so I've started already 8-) And their 1/72 snap together F-4J kit is very nice too. With so many schemes to choose from though, it annoys me that they went with Showtime 100. Like that hasn't been done to death  It's got me buggered why ZM are doing a 1/48 F-4C. It's not like there aren't any around. Though an F-4 kit is almost a licence to print money, I would've thought a different model to Academy would've been a better idea. They do do nice kits but I'll wait to see how much they are before I get one though. The detail to $$$ ratio still needs to be in my favour :)

I think ZM should of done a 1/32 F-4 - Navy and USAF variants. Still Tamiya have done pretty well with their offerings in this scale. It's a weird choice - kinda done to death isn't it. Still model companies keep churning out Bf-109's in all scales and types too and the punters keep lapping them up! I think ZM are going to do a Fw-190 range as well. I have their 1/32 Ta-152H1 to build and they've just released a Ta-152H0 which is improved - ARGH! Moulding detail is kind of "soft" - not sharp like Tamiya and Hasegawa.

The only F-4 I one day hope to build is Robin Olds "SCAT XXVII". Can't get into USN "Double Uglies" at all as I'm a big fan of F-8's and everyone knows F-8's used to eat F-4's for breakfast! . EricG talked me out of getting a 1/48 kit, so I will get a 1/32 F-4C at some stage (sometime in the next few years!).

Brig.Gen Robin Olds - to me the most famous F-4 driver ever.

Oh Gawd! From DH-89 to discussing Phantoms!

Nothing wrong with thread drift Ross. Some of the most interesting, educational, and creative posts I have ever seen, (and participated in :D ), on other model sites have been as a result of good old fashion thread drift. I love the twists and turns of a free wheeling, vibrant, enthusiastic, energetic, and un-restricted thread, (sort of like a bunch of mates down the pub talking about anything and everything). For reasons that I don't fully understand, thread drift seems to be discouraged and frowned on by administrators on some model sites, (to the point of scolding the individuals concerned  , thread-locking  , and deletions  ......go figure), but I think it makes for great on-going conversation between like-minded folks. That's one of the reasons I started my own site. I have to qualify all this though Ross by saying that I am one of the worst offenders for threads drift that I know
