He's had many other vans and utes since then, unfortunately some, including the last few, have been fords, so you can see why this has always been my favourite. He is talking about retiring in the next year to 18 months and for the last year I have been trying to find a suitable model to build for him. Finally I found this diecast model that should do the job nicely.

It arrived a few weeks ago, but I have been a bit busy doing work around the house and haven't had a chance to get into the office. As you can see, the roof racks are wrong so Ill have to make a new one, I'll need to replace the pipe for some bundles of tube to represent conduit and I'll have to scratch up some step ladders, but the extension ladder is spot on. So today I put aside the Hercules I'd been working on and got started on the Van. Disassembly was easy and thankfully all the chrome pieces are separate plastic pieces which were easily removed and set aside.

I then gave it a light sand and removed the screen printed details, and masked up the headlights before giving it and the interior a coat of Mr Surfacer.

I'll wait now until tomorrow before I spray the first white coat, but I have a problem. The sign writing on the side. How am I going to pull that off? I was thinking custom decals, but the majority of the writing is white. So I think the way to go is apply vinyl cut stencils which would then be removed once the red coat goes down. Does anyone here know of somewhere I could get them made? All help and any suggestions will be appreciated.
