DesTROYers SU-27B Flanker

Been working on this little gem of an Academy 1/48 kit for a while now. I got the third color of the camo down last night and I think it's starting to look very badass.

The mask set I'm using is not bad, but the instructions are a P.O.S.. Some of the masks are made up of two or three pieces, but the instructions don't show this and the order you need to apply them seems wrong. I may have not stuck 100% to the layout on the sheet, but I'm quite happy still with the result.

Looking very sinister Troy! Those masks look a great idea for those like you doing a splinter camo - must save many hours of masking. Which air force is this? Is it a factory demonstrator, Belorus or Uki Suk?

I hope to start my big 1/32 Suk some time next year. It will be a 2 year project I think. Your Suk has provided some inspiration to pull my finger out, get current projects moving so I can start my big Suk! Looking forward to seeing your Suk finished and in what markings!

All the best

Adam

Thanks guys. I'm happy with it.

Adam, I just decided to have a bit of fun with this one. Not going for accuracy of colors or scheme. Just needed a fun build to get my head straight and try something new.

Looking awesome mate. I have a 1/72 Trumpeter Su-30 to do as an Indonesian TNI-AU machine that attended Pitch Black a couple of years ago :)

Getting closer to the clear coat stage. Just some minor paint details to add.

I found this great walk around for an Ukrainian SU-27 in a similar scheme, which has been a great help on the small stuff.
