Some very good news

Postby tor lives » Fri Oct 17, 2014 2:15 am

Hi all,
It is with much pleasure and excitement that I advise that the Model Expo Committee has now approved our desired
"Civil Aircraft" competition category from 2015. This new category will compliment the existing "Airliner" category, and A/CAM will proudly be the financial sponsor of both. Specific details of the new category will follow later.
I wish to publicly thank Rene, Ed, and indeed the entire Model Expo Committee for their vision, cooperation, and support in making this new category a reality.
It goes without saying that it is now up to us to make this category a success....the Model Expo Committee have done their bit and shown much faith in us, we now must do all possible to ensure that faith and vote-of-confidence is warranted and justified.
To further strengthen the cooperation and evolving relationship/partnership between Model Expo and A/CAM we also need to offer our services in the form of tangible support for the Model Expo event itself. This support would be in the form of supplying man-power for such tasks as scrutineering, ushering, and general duties assistance where required. I would request and hope that any A/CAMer that is in a position to offer assistance over the Model Expo weekend will consider volunteering some time to support this great modelling event. The Model Expo Committee has done us a huge favour in being willing to support and show case our particular niche area of modelling interest....we need to now return this favour by offering as much support as we can for the event.
Finally, thanks again to the Model Expo Committee for bringing into being this much-desired new category....we here at A/CAM truly appreciate it.

Well done indeed.. I'm not a competitor, though with the product of such a comparatively few number of members I am sure the benches will be groaning with the weight of entries

Outstanding! This is a "oh crap" moment in that I seriously have to pull the finger out and get building! :D

Well done to all involved in getting this over the line. Let's all make this a Kick-ass category!

Cheers

OUT FREAKIN STANDING :D :D :D :D :D :D Great work by the Expo committee on this. As Ray said, it's up to us now. Even though I won't be there next year (      ) I'll hopefully have some entries that will make an appearance if I can get them there. After a shit week at work, this has made my day. Can't wait to see all the civvie models on the table. I think the ACAM tables at this years Expo really showed that there's a need for such a category and that there are the models to support it. It's also wicked that ACAM will be sponsoring the category so well done Ray. I hope civvie WIF's can be included in this category. Looks like a few civvie planes need to move up my 'to do' list me thinks WOOT WOOT WOOT :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
