I've been up at Bluescope Port Kembla this week. Monday early evening when I'm back in the hotel room contemplating whether to go for fish again for dinner or a steak (went the steak option!) anyhoo, the wife calls me and asks about the fire - "What fire?" says I! I was in a totally different part of the plant quite a few hundred metres away - cold strip mill and just recall it getting pretty dark outside all of a sudden. There had been a big thunderstorm just before, so thought nothing of it. Couldn't smell anything either.
There had been four lab guys on top of the sinter plant stack taking some readings and had come down due to the rain, then up went the stack - lucky huh! All their gear was destroyed I heard.
