Graeme, if you're still interested in books on locating and returning lost airmen have you read any of Andy Saunders books?
His three titles Finding the Few, Finding the Foe and Finding the Fallen are great reads. I have his book on the Stuka attacks on England and the Channel Conveys which is very comprehensive as they have located every Stuka and their crews lost over England and retrieved the remains. Interesting book which I read whilst in Hospital and then of all things had a German Doctor who then proceeded to tell me all about Stukas.
I reminded him that they had lost......twice, which he took in good humour.
Cheers

Well....there is someone more desperate than me to have the DH-88.
It went for $352.00, (I am a little disappointed, but sorta pleased/relieved at the same time....I now don't have to sell a kidney :D ).

The winning price on that comet wasn't so bad. Only 150 were made and unless you get one off ebay or other, they are not available any more. I paid about $280 for mine delivered and I didnt hesitate once I made contact with the seller. I know of three of the 150 kits within my circle of friends.

Anyway, if you were to build one Comet, one that would stand out from the crowd and reside in your collection for many years to come it just has to be in man scale and the price wouldn't seem so prohibitive! Yes the Aerotech kits need a bit of filler and thoughtful build technique but in the right hands they present reasonably well.

If we are talking about stupid prices, how about the price of some of my Mirage resin? The Matra missile and pylon that I was selling for $25 went for a mind boggling 168 pound (or $314 Ozzie in today's currency)......
