Hi guys,
As some of you may have noticed, our newest member took it upon himself to spam-bomb our most popular forums within 24 hours of joining our site.
His mess is all cleaned up now with no harm done.....and you can rest assured that our newest member is a member no more :D , but really, why do these morons waste their time doing this

Yes, they are out there

I got a text message from my bank yesterday with a friendly reminder that I hadn't made my minimum payment, and could I please do so,
duly logged on and found 6 transactions from 2 different companies, who sell Women's and men's clothing, all the transactions were for amounts around the $300 mark, one below, 5 above, all done on Sunday, and Monday.
The companies seem to be legitimate in that they have a website, and although different names, I'm sure they are the same people, as both merchant addresses are Brookvale.

Called the Bank immediately cancelled my CC, and now have to dispute the charges to get my money back, about $2k

So got me thinking, have I been hacked, well not on the face of it, and I will leave the bank to figure that one out, alternative is has someone got a hold of my CC details, and used them, this is the most likely scenario,
This led me to look at my recent transactions, only 3 for the last week, one for Qantas for return trip to BNE to go to the Hobby Expo and visit my Mum, Woolworths, and RACQ membership.
Now the RACQ was a phone call to remind me I hadn't paid my membership renewal (see a trend here), and did I want to continue, so yes, and quoted my CC details over the phone, this was a pretty genuine transaction as a letter arrived yesterday on RACQ letterhead confirming it all, the CC details show RACQ and the girl at the bank said it appeared genuine from their side.
My action today is to call RACQ and do some investigations, as I don't think the QF or Woolworths websites have been hacked, we sure would have heard about that in the news, and they are computer transactions not verbal like the RACQ one.
The only other time I had trouble with my CC was when I arrived in the UK in 2011, and read my emails saying that my CC had been cancelled, as there was an attempt, I never did find out what and was never charged anything, luckily I have a UK Bank account, so didn't matter that much, bit of dilemma though otherwise.

and Ray looking at the membership list I see he has his website listed against his name, might want to get rid of that.
now where can I buy a good set of runners? 8-)
