I think I may have a problem

Postby tor lives » Mon Sep 15, 2014 2:09 pm

Having just spent over $200.00 this morning on purchasing the superb Heritage Models 1:32 Voodoo racing Mustang, (to go along with my Fisher 1:32 Red Baron and Revell 1:32 Miss America racing Mustangs), I thought I would just review what has turned up at my joint just in the last couple of weeks:

I am now convinced that this racing aircraft "thing" that has got a hold of me is now officially out of control :?
Help me!!!!!...... I clearly need an intervention or counselling or something.
I will NEVER get all the racing aircraft I want to build built!!!
Dam you Reno, Red Bull, etc, etc !!!, why did I have to discover this exciting, adrenalin-charged, and exhilarating area of aviation!!! :o

Back of the queue mate (for psychiatric help that is!). Fair to say I think on this forum that we're all pretty well tarred with the same brush here - aeroplane nut jobs one and all. Of course some are more "enthusiastic" than others! :D How about our resident obsessive compulsive Phantom kit purchaser! :D

Oh yeah, when I've cried out in despair in the past regarding my "addiction", you lot have all piped up - "Suck it up pal and buy more!". So, roll with it, embrace this magnificent obsession and BUY MORE! You know you want to!

What I must do is increase my build rate substantially, then all will be fine!

BTW - that P-51C kit looks fantastic! One for the Red aeroplane group build?

Ray, that's not a problem, THIS IS

I've been waiting for Hannants to put this on their specials but, instead, this was the last one they had so I had to acquire it. It I ever get up the nerve to build it it will be one of the West Australian Airways Hercules, with the cabin roof, etc.

For you lovers of red aeroplanes. :D

We have just had the best Shuttleworth display for many years, it was the pageant which means that we display all of the airworthy aircraft if the weather is suitable. This year the weather was almost perfect with light winds and sunshine, the only problem was that the wind was blowing the wrong way even though it was almost straight down the runway. This was a problem as we were hoping to display the McRobertson race winning Comet, Grosvenor House and it can only be landed uphill as it comes over the hedge very fast and the pilot can't see anything forwards after he has straightened out from the curved approach. We eventually re-scheduled the Comet to be the last display of the day when the wind had dropped right off, this meant that a couple of the Edwardians couldn't fly but most of the crowd were there to see the Comet and stayed to the very end. I hope the link to the video works, the pilot got a well deserved round of applause and was greeted like a film star along the flight line after his display which he really deserved as he is a lot braver man than me, there is no way I would ever want to fly it.

Gorgeous freakin aeroplane. And Airfix is re-realeasing their 1/72 effort in these colours again. Unfortunately it's not a new tool but I have plenty of putty for when it comes out :)

I was at the Shuttleworth a few weeks ago, and missed one of the flying days by a few days. It's on my must do list when I return to the UK in a couple of years. But even with all the aircraft parked, it is an amazing collection, and should be on every wingnuts must do if they ever visit the UK.
