Managed to catch some quick updates on Youtube. Sad to hear about one fatality in the Sports class, highlighting the very unforgiving nature of these high performance aeroplanes. I saw too that Thom Richard in Precious Metal suffered a engine failure and dead sticked his bird down safely. Noted too his comments regarding how coarsening the prop can make a massive difference to glide performance. Not allowing for the increase in glide performance when in full coarse/feathered can be just as problematic - overshooting runway as opposed to undershooting. One of the best aerobatic pilots in Australia once suffered a engine failure in his prototype Edge 540, prop went full coarse and he landed long and went off the end of the runway and wrote off his aeroplane - luckily he was OK.

fitting a feathering pump was one of the first mods that Thom did to PM...and after reading his comments i can understand why :o .
Lees dath was just gutting from a fan perspective,i'd exchanged stuff with him on face book....and the GP5 that he was flying was stunning...such a loss, probably similar to the community loss of pip borman out here.

and now i see that strega is alive.........the engine problems weren't terminal......tomorrow is gonna ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The big Heritage Models 1:32 Voodoo is now ordered and on it's way ....119 Pounds Sterling, but worth every penny :D

She will go perfectly with my Fisher 1:32 Red Baron (and thanks again for arranging a re-issue of this superb kit Adam.....you are clearly a man of extraordinary influence ), and Revell 1:32 Miss America racing Mustangs. Now if I could just finish one of em that would be great.

PS: I am waiting for Eric, Adam, and Knotty to start their Red Baron kits so I can look and learn.

What I will do is start a "Group build RB-51" so we can all share progress reports, issues, etc.
