The 1:48 diecast Mobil Mustang racer is now here and ready to join the racing fleet:

She is quiet stunning in her all-red colour scheme.

Here she is with her stable mates, (just the Shell Mustang to come to complete the diecast racing Mustang quartet).

Just like red cars, red aeroplanes go faster. University tests have proved this! :D

Throw in some checkers, you get a killa lookin' aeroplane! What more evidence is required to prove that civvie painted ex-mil types just look Freakin' hot!

Just had a mental thought (nothing to worry about folks, situation normal!).

I have four models to build that will require an all red coat. I've been scratching my head about which one to start. Que mental thought - What the hell, I'm starting my own "Red aeroplane group build". Anyone else interested?

I guess I'm unofficially in Adam as hopefully I'll be starting my Ferrari Macchi C.202 WIF when I get home. The kit arrived today at home and I got my first lot of sponsor decals yesterday. 1 more lot of sponsor decals and a 4 point racing harness to come and I should be good to go. I'd love to put a car racing seat in it but I can't seem to find any 1/43 scale ones anywhere. A reminder of what I hope it looks like when I'm done :)

I am very interested, and I have some good WIF racer projects in mind that would suit this GB perfectly....trouble is that I don't think that I could actually complete anything within a reasonable time-frame. I am already struggling to get in the model room and complete the projects I have planned for the next year's Expo, including our display and (hopefully) two different competition categories. Go for it though cause the "Red Aeroplane GB" is a great concept.
In the mean time here is something to get those creative juices flowing:

Time will not be an issue as I'm a very low rate production builder in any case. How about a ten year limit on this group build?
Ray, your 747 is further evidence that red aeroplanes look shit hot!

Done Damo - 20 year group build! Sounds a realistic time frame. ;)

Excellent inspiration Brad, but sadly ineligible as it was finished prior to the announcement of this group build.

It's also not a civvie scheme. :D
