Warning...contagious 1:32 "disease" now rampant

Postby tor lives » Tue Jul 01, 2014 3:13 pm

Hi guys,
Just thought I would share with you photographic evidence of the Insidious and very contagious 1:32 "disease" I caught from the very infected "carriers" Adam and Eric. If you are infected by this "old man scale" disease this is how out-of-control it can get in a very short time if preventative measures are not immediately taken:
WARNING: the following pictures may cause distress, (especially to hip pocket)

Prevention is the best cure....know the early signs and symptoms of this debilitating condition including lusting after a Fisher RB Mustang in it's box, and lingering over photos of Eric's latest builds.
Don't let this happen to you.
TOR
PS: Next to join the 1:32 stash includes Heritage RB Mustang "Voodoo" and Williams Bothers Gee Bees "R" and "Z"

Capt Eric

Implementation of Phase 1 of "Operation GS32" complete. Site owner of A/CAM is now obviously addicted to "Gentlemen's Scale". Phase 2 will begin shortly using mind warping/altering techniques to get TOR addicted to 1/32 Fast Jets!

Moh Hah Hah!

Like that ASK-21! I went for a ride in one in the Midlands in the UK at a old one time Pathfinder airfield. It was a winch launch, which as a absolute blast for those who have never done one - like a rocket take off! At 1000', you could make out the old bomb dispersals, some taxi ways, etc amongst the fields - it was the spookiest flight I've ever done, almost feeling the ghosts riding on our wings.

Anyway, here's a well earned salute TOR for all your 1/32 purchases and acceptance into the "Gentleman's Club"! Now get building!

Yeah but where do you put the bloody things?
I thought I had moved to 1/32 about 8 years back, built a Zero, Mustang, Mirage, Dauntless, Hurricane. All but the Mirage are gone to other homes.
I love big models but they take up too much room. Another quandary of mine is that I am not into super detailing cockpits and all that ...so getting into 1/32 obligates one to do this stuff... I don't wanna! But that said I have just picked up a real cheap 1/32 DO-27, still have a ME262 (Trumpeter) in the stash that I bought on the day dad died (he loved that jet), 2 Tigermoths (one to be converted to Foxmoth), a Mig 19, 2 Hunters and a Bloody BF109K!
Don't get between me and a cheap Tamiya 1/32 Phantom if ever one comes up.. you might get trampled

Nah, I had the disease but now I have the antibodies to resist any further purchases of said scale (except of course that Phantom). I'd been waiting for a cheap Dornier to come up for a few years now... bagged it for 15 bucks all up!

I started in 1/32 once the new Hasegawa kits started coming out. I'm building the old Revell MiG 21 at the moment and I've got in the stash; the old Revell F-4E, Yokosuka Willow and a Special Hobby Buffalo.

It's not a disease young Ray, you're maturing and a clear indication is modelling in the Gentleman's Scale as Adam calls it.
You need to embrace it, it's good for you, would Adam,Eric and myself lead you astray?

I say Adam, that lass looks super fit.......one could get seriously hurt tangling with her...oohhh but the pain would be worth it..........wouldn't it?

That Super Cub looks familiar  mmmm, where have I seen that before?
I took your advice Ray and pre-ordered the Revell 1/32 Tundra Tyred Cub coming out in September, seen the box art and it has the huge 31" inch tyres.only about $32 from HLJ, I couldn't resist, the force was too strong.

Don't worry about super detailing Wally, that way lies madness but it's good to look at as long as someone else has been afflicted with the AMS bug, been there and I'm still in therapy as someone else on this site knows.

Cheers all,
Wayne
