A very generous gesture

Postby tor lives » Sat Jun 21, 2014 6:05 pm

Hi guys,
Well...me and Knotty had a most pleasant day today.
A mutual mate of ours has decided that it is time to start clearing out his huge collection of assembled and "still-in-box" model aircraft kits that he has be gathering over decades. He made it be know that when it comes time for him to go to that great model shop in the sky he didn't want his grown kids simply throwing out his beloved model collection so, he wanted this vast model collection to go to some" blokes who would appreciate them and put them to good use". Knotty and I got the privilege and honour of dividing the collection up between us....and here is what made it's way back to my house :D :

I wish to thank our mate Rob publicly for his kindness and generosity. Despite offers, Rob would not take any money for any items, he just wanted his models to go to good homes. I am sure we can all relate to Rob.....here is a man who simply loves his aeroplanes and loves his models.
Thanks Rob!!!
BTW....as maybe noticed, I have a heap of DC-3/C-47 spares parts available. Let me know if anyone is working on a 1:72 Dakota and needs parts. I have Rob's blessing in ensuring that these parts are put top good use as opposed to being thrown out. As someone who thoroughly enjoys refurbishing old kits I can absolutely appreciate the value of spare parts such as this in rebuild projects.

Hey Knotty....can you check if any of these parts are still sitting in your boxes???
If Knotty can't find these parts, I would still like to pay these models the respect they deserve and refurb/repair them. To that end if anyone could help out with appropriate spares that would be great!!!
