The fit of the engine stub wings to the fuselage was not the best so I used the cling wrap method to fill the gaps prior to gluing them to the wings
The excess has been tidied up
And let the masking and final paint begin

Say, for example, you want have a stabilizer half that has a few gaps when mated up to the fuselage. Here's what you do..
1. Take a piece of cling wrap and lay it over the fuselage at the stabilizer join.
2. Poke a hole through it so the stabilizer tab passes through it.
3. Attach the stabilizer without glue and tape it into position.
4. Fill the gap with putty. The cling wrap ensures the putty only adheres to the stabilizer.
5. Remove the stabilizer once the putty has cured.
6. Sand the surfaces of the stabilizer so the putty is flush.
7. Paint the stabilizer.
This method is best used if the stabililzer (or any other part) is a different colour to the fuselage and you don't want to mask it off, or needs to be attached after applying decals..
