Hobby Boss HH-60J Jayhawk - USCG

Postby RayS » Tue Oct 12, 2021 10:58 am

I will have a crack at a 1/72 Hobby Boss HH-60J Jayhawk for the Expo display.

I started with painting interior parts on the sprues yesterday.

And then the assembly started, while I find these kits go together with little fuss, HB do not supply any interior painting guides or decals for the instrument panel or consoles. So I found the paint guide for the Italeri kit online to guide my painting efforts and scrounge my decals spares for the centre console decal (which came from a cut down P-3 Orion centre console decal).

Nice shot Wally, thanks for sharing.

Moving on, I have just about finished add all the protrusions, except one antenna that has to go on after decaling is done. The main rotor head group and tail rotor group is painted and assembled, now awaiting decals.

So it was time for some pictures with most of the bits brought together.

Very nice work Ray.

Should look really good in that colour scheme.
