1/72 707-121 N707PA, so, Pan American Clipper

Hi, mates.
I need help again.

I was looking for the best position where to put a wing spar to prevent the typical "wing drop" of this kit in order to get the dihedral right.
At this point I wanted to check how the main gear leg should be glued in.
Looking at the instruction it seems possible to put the legs after the wing parts are glued together, but I find this impossible; there are some refers inside the lower wing part that become so close to the upper one that don't allow to pass with the leg. Beside of this, gluing the leg this way, all the weight of the model will almost be carried by two thin gluing points. The forces work here this way: the weight downwards and the reaction of the leg upwards, thus going to separate the parts.
Has someone of you faced this problem before? How did you get rid of?

On my NASA KC-135 I just used kit sprue and ran along the near the leading edge



I added the gear legs fairly early in the build and before paint

First of all: nice model. Nasa liveries are always fascinating.

I'm afraid I am not so delicate handling my on course builds to be able not to damage a piece like that when masking and painting.
I have to explore some (for me) safer procedure to fix those legs later.

No worries, we all do things differently to suit out building methods, I love to reglue broken off parts back on during the build process

Hallo everyone.
First of all I want to wish you all a merry Christmas and a new year full of joy, or at least less painful than the 2020.

So, on the 707. I tried a new way to mount the main landing gears legs.
In the following 3 pics, you can see how should they be glued as per the instruction.







I made some supports on the internal upper side of the wing that will be the refer and gluing points for the struts.
Tried to cheat the sight with some internal structure and shot a bit of white primer.
So I was able to glue the wing parts together with a brass "H" spar inside. (forgot to take pictures, I was too anxious to get rid of this task)











Now I will be able to insert the legs later, after painting.
