None for me this year.
I shall be keeping a vigilant eye over this great nation.
I am on SAR Alert standby over the whole Chrissy period.

What does standby consist of? Do you get to sit at home or sit at the office or?

The Sword UC-125 is very nice, I have 2 and am considering 'demilling' the second.

We do three different shifts:
AM Shift 0700-1300 at base
PM Shift 1300-1900 at base
Night Shift 1900-0700 at home, (with a requirement to be at base within 30 minutes of SAR callout).
While on base shifts....no sitting around idle. Many weekly continuation training tasks must be completed. We have a mock up of the jet on base, and are constantly training......much like fireys or ambos.
We are constantly monitored and audited for proficiency.

Ah right, I was just imaging you sitting out on your deck chair at dispersal like in the BoB movie, reading a book before the phone rings and Arnold screams "SAR SCRAMBLE
