Planning for Model Expo 2020

Postby tor lives » Sun Jun 02, 2019 4:24 pm

OK, so as Model Expo 2019 is a complete fizzer for A/CAM, (no club display, no category sponsorships, no completion of the Airfix 1:144 737 Challenge Build for the Airliner Category), I guess there is nothing else to do but optimistically look to next year.
To that end here is how Model Expo 2020 looks from an A/CAM perspective:
2 X Categories to be sponsored, (Airliner and Non-Military),
1 X Group Challenge Build to be completed, (Airfix 1:144 737-200), with all completed models to be entered into the Airliner Category .
1 X A/CAM Club display.....
2020 Display theme- Angels of Mercy: Civil Emergency Services Aircraft
So, with just over 12 months to go....lets' get to it, and hopefully we can have a much more significant presence than this year.

I am assuming so as that category, (Non-Military), is listed in the Model Expo 2019 handbook.

It's just that A/CAM is not sponsoring any categories this year.

I’ll cross that bridge if/when we come to it.

So I assume we will see a few ATs, LATs and VLATs on the tables then?

I have a few contenders including an RVHP B350 Air Ambulance.

So what else could we likely see?

The theme lends itself to a wide variety of aircraft including:
- Fire Fighting aircraft of all types, including rotary and fixed wing.
- SAR aircraft of all types, including rotary and fixed wing, (you might even see a certain SAR Challenger 604 represented :D )
- Surf Rescue aircraft of all types, including rotary and fixed wing.
- Shark Patrol aircraft of all types, including rotary and fixed wing.
- Police aircraft of all types, including rotary and fixed wing.
- Coast Guard/Customs/Border Force aircraft of all types, including rotary and fixed wing.
- Air Ambulance aircraft of all types, including rotary and fixed wing, (be nice to see the RFDS represented).
- Disaster Response aircraft of all types, including rotary and fixed wing.
- Pollution/Oil Spill control aircraft of all types, including rotary and fixed wing.

I only managed one in the Airliner category which was finished last year and displayed on the ACAM table that year.

All good intentions to finish something for this year, blah, blah, blah....

I have some incentive as I want to finish a few civil subjects in the next 12 months to something into the Civil category. That Amodel G-500 is one of them.

ScaleACT 2020s 'Grail' category will be anything QANTAS for the 100th Anniversary. So I hope to get a couple done for that which should be done in time for Expo. Also, a heads up to you visitors, no excuse to say you didn't know about it now, you have 18 months notice!

Plus the Challenge build 737 which will be finished!

So time to get a build list worked out.
