Site Activity

Postby tor lives » Fri May 10, 2019 4:39 pm

Guys,
Site activity has dropped right off in recent times, and I am not quiet sure why.
Bottom line.....I can't justify continuing to pay for the Site if no one is using it.
Clearly the FB page is where most A/CAMers are comfortable these days, especially when one considers the comparative membership numbers.
I will be monitoring Site activity and usage over the coming week or two and, if it is obvious that the Site remains "dead in the water", I will have to make some tough decisions.

I for one have lost access from work, I had to change networks and the new one blocks the site due to a malware alert.

I don't get on as much at home lately.

Been flat out at work in PNG. I do have to post up a few pics I've been taking whilst up there. As for modelling, that's been non existent of late and I too won't be making Expo this year which will make a few peeps happy. I have been buying a few bits and pieces lately and have gained yet another theme, WW2 aircraft that operated from/over Port Moresby. Cos like I need yet another area of interest
Head A/CAM Phantom Phanatic, Shit Stirrer and Karma Bus Driver toot fkn toot

So......on average, there are about 15 people on Site at any given time.
That's not bad, but the vast majority of Site visitors are not members.

Could it be a seasonal thing? Here in the northern hemisphere it's spring, and the weather is warm and more people are engaged in outside activities.

I have a look at the site everyday, sometimes morning & arvo. If i haven't got anything to comment on I don't log in.
If I have to log in every few hours to prevent the site closing down then so be it. I wouldn't touch facefarce with a barge pole.

SpaceRanger has a solid answer re our Northern cousins, we all know that come the warmer months these dudes have other things on their minds.

So, Raymundo, please keep the site running and if we have to pay annual dues then so be it as well.
Cheers
Wayne.

Said it before, will say it again; restricting postings to the facebook page to moderators and owners may push people to the forum to share their work.

Yeah...gave much thought to this Brad.
Fact is the A/CAM FB page is evolving into being everything I wanted the Site to be, so I don't want to discourage the A/CAM FB page membership by trying to force them into doing something they clearly don't want to do.
Site activity has improved sightly over the past week with 15-20 individuals on Site at any given time.
This is sustainable for the time being, as long as at least these numbers remain constant.

There are plenty of other Airline FB groups which don't do this, you would just push the masses away to the ones that allow member posts.
