Brad have a look at the PM from Graeme and let us know what you think?

If you are wondering what the Articles are like in Airliner Modeller here's a preview of one relevant to your build :

So long as you don't tell anyone who owns any copyright so they don't send their Boys around to break my legs!

Magnificent! I finally got a little money in so I've been able to replenish my stores of things like paint and primer so now it's finally back to work on this one. I fact, I'll probably devote some time to it tomorrow.

Thank you!!!!

Wow, they really get down to brass tacks, too. I should be able to accomplish a fair bit of this I surmise.

Back at it! I've been refining the overall smoothness and appearance of the fuselage and it's just about ready to for paint. Of course, I need to get the new nose gear fairing on but at least now PSR is done.

I'm now going to start to shift focus to the whole gravel kit situation. I've finally scanned the airstairs/deflector plate into a computer file so I can now actually start working on the plate. I didn't want to disturb anything until it was scanned. Here that is.... I scanned a measuring device along with everything else so one merely need to download the picture then re-size it or whatever until it's correct. Barring that, if anyone wants the original file itself, send me a PM with your email addy. I'm a dumb bastard... I don't know how things works.... as far as I know, when you scan something, it stays the proper size, right? This is also why I don't print my own decals yet, I know there's little measuring things in paint programs or whatever but I can't EASILY tell what size the stuff on my screen will actually print off so I just say "piss on it" and go about my business... BUT ANYWAY... like I said, you can download this picture, or get the original file from me if you want. Most of the stuff should be pretty easy to make with styrene sheet! 8-)

I've also been keeping busy gathering up my reference stuff. Per y'all suggestion, I bought that 737 book. Lucky for me, it was less than $5 shipping and all, AND it came crammed full of articles, clippings, and other 737 related stuff! I plan to go more into detail about it in the "shit you bought" thread so look for it! But... yay!!!! And the book itself in great condition!! I was so happy!! Ebay listing didn't even have a picture so it was a bit of a roll of the dice but it worked out great. There's notes and stuff scribbled around in it, too. :)

That other one is a newer Squadron publication. I've had it a little while and kept forgetting about it.... BUT.. I remembered in time to put it to use and sure enough, I found some write-up and full-color pictures of the stuff in question on page 19:

So that's where I'm at now. I need to do a light sand and one last coat of primer on the fuselage then I'll get into the nose fairing and the deflector plate.

I still need to either find some engines or make my own. ....... ....... Looking like this project may take quite a while.

Lots of "real-world" stuff today. Work, errands, house chores and all that stuff. Finally found some time and spent it all working on the 737. The hull is finally smooth.

So, now, it's time to work on the modifiend nose gear thingy and fairing, and the gravel deflector plate. To that end, I staged the plate on a piece of tape so it won't disappear. I'll be cutting out things from sheet styrene to make all the stuff that goes on it. Fantastic having this!!! "Making" it would have been a pain! I've also cut down the gear doors to the proper shape and size and they'll also get some new styrene glued on because part of the new fairing extends onto them. Got it all sitting in a little box so it doesn't get lost. Lastly, I used my reference stuff to measure out and plot the area where the new well/fairing goes and taped it off. Next round of work I'll use some milliput and start actually building it.
