Hey Chronic!

Those fuselage sets pre-date the Airfix 727-200 kit - they were to convert the Airfix 727-100 kit into a -200.

Airfix ended up permanently modifiying their -100 moulds to make their own -200 kit, thus why no more Airfix -100 releases.

BTW,

If you want to convert an Airfix -200 back to a -100, Ozmods have a conversion fuselage (mastered from an original -100 kit) here: http://www.ozmods-kits.com/conversions-upgrades-accessories-1144 (Scroll halfway down)

Or there's always the Revell -100 kit that's still available...

Cheers!

Thanks bud!! Good stuff.

I'm mainly concerned with how accurate they are. It seems like everywhere I go, everyone says the maintstreem 727 kits, no matter which one, are all having accuracy issues. So, I'm thinking when I build one, I might use one of these instead and save the kit fuselage for a What-if Airliner or something. :D :D

More stuff!! I had been using random scraps of household junk any time I needed plastic card. I want higher quality and more control over the dimension so I bought an assortment. This could well last me for decades.

I also bought a set of white metal landing gear for the 1/72 scale Heller B707. I'm going to build it soon. I will make it AUSTRALIAN AIR FORCE. It'll be the pretty one.... the transport/tanker with the glorious cheatline and colors. 8-) 8-)

It's a bit hard to tell from the photos, but it does look like the ATP set does address one of the major problems with all the Airfix 727's in that the No2 Engine line does not continue in a straight line across the fin, but does subtly go down at about a 45 deg line, the OZ mods conversion copied that fault from the Airfix kit, and of course all the Lodela kits are just reboxed Airfix kits.

The other set it's hard to tell, sort of looks like they didn't address the fact there is a line.

The Minicraft kit did address that quite well, but has a whole lot of other problems.

Apart from the expensive Authentic Airliner kits, not a lot of good OOB 1/144th kits out there, The Airfix kit is probably the one with the least amount of faults, wish someone like Zvezda would do a new mould 727.

I've just ordered this base from "3D Bases by Mario Catania for my 1/32 105. I'll let you guys know what it's like when I get it. His bases look unbelievable and are available in 1/72, 1/48 and 1/32. His aircraft carrier bases are out of this world.

Got a bit of a Virgin Group thing going on at the moment.
Just got two different Virgin Express 737 kits (1:200 and 1:144).

And while in Brisvegas managed to pick these up that I had bought some time ago :

And literally had an hour or so when in Brisvegas to raid the Brisvegas "Stash" and liberate a few Kits :

Part of a Cunning Plan that I will outline later ...

I picked up a Tamiya 1/72 Focke Wulf 190D-9 from ebay for 2.80. They sent me a 20 dollar gift voucher, no sense in wasting it!
