Initially I thought the pylons may have been a bit fat but I reckon you have captured the look and lines perfectly.

OK after having a go at starting the triple slotted flaps inboard and out board on both wings and really only succeeding in sanding the tip off my left index finger I'm now going to wait and see how you do it and then just try and plagiarise (badly of course - and for any sanding protecting my fingers with bandaids or thimbles or any medieval armour meant for the fingers) what you show us.

Thanks guys! Eugenio, your link helped a lot!I decided I want to make activated reversers, so I have to make spoilers in activated position to. I was hopeing I wouldn't have to do that.
This is where I'm at right now.

I will rebuild the wing with thin styrene and use original parts for thrust reversers. I also sanded the pylons a bit more, becouse they did look a bit fat.

Wingtip lights are replaced too. They are a piece of clear resin with driled hole for the bulb and paited clear green and red.


Ansett A330, I wanted to do flaps in take off position, but now I have to make them fully extended. Looking at reference photos, it doesn't look like an easy job. I'll have to do some thinking.

I got me a detail set which will come handy. I realy like 3D windshield decals.

Those lights look really amazing. It's incredible how modelers that never met have the same approach to same problems.
Fortunately we still can spot some of the original plastic in your 737

When you do start to fabricate them line them up like this so I can guesstimate how far out this first attempt of mine was :



But just remember not to sand your finger/s!

Eugenio, I have to leave some of original plastic. It's an Airfix chalenge build after all.
Ansett A330, I haven't sanded my fingers yet, but I did manage to cut them twice already. This is a dangerous hobby. I'll take a photo of the flaps before I glue them on.

So here is some progress. Wings are glued on now. I added flaps and reverser mechanism fairings. Openings for Kruger flaps are done. I also made slats. They are made of two thin strips of styrene, wide and narow, glued together. They were sanded to shape after I glued them to the wings. I know there should be a gap betwen the slats and the leading edge of the wing when fully extended. I wanted to have a strong join, so I didn't make it that way.




I'll tackle the flaps next.

Now we're talking! This looks great, keep going!!! One of these days I'm going to learn how to do this type of stuff. I have some of the books and stuff that go into detail on how to do it and what to use I just need to practice more to get my own skills up to the task.

Jealous of your engines ..... I will need to copy your homework if I can't find any to buy.
