Yes there certainly is Ollie ...

but when viewed from below :

it's the wheel well "roof" planking which dominates which you've captured very well (as well as the Wheel Brush "Rings") :

Fantastic!! I'm straight up jealous of your windscreen area as mine is an undefined BLOB shape right now.

Thanks Ansett A330 and TheChronicOne!

I have scribed in some panel lines.

I found some photos after I've done that, so I need to redo some of them on the belly and on tail fin. Also need to add detail to the nose wheel well.

Now I need some help. From the photos I can't see if I need to lenghten the engines or not. Here is a pic of the real thing.

Any help will be much apreciated!

Thanks for looking in!
Cheers!

"I think the Airfix engine length might have been based on the early version, with the 727-style reversers. There was a thread over on Britmodeller where a modeler (Viking) fixed the engines and cockpit area, but sadly, the photos were lost in The Great Photobucket Debacle. He added a spare cockpit part from the Daco 737 kit to fix that area and added a 4 mm splice to the engines, just forward of the reversers. These two fixes really helped the looks of the model. "

Indeed, would be nice to have some pictures to look at but that's a start!

Yes they are definitely the later lengthened engines.

I think what is tricking you there into thinking they may be the earlier shorter engines are where everything is in relation to the wing when in both photos the wing has every thing deployed possibly making the engines look shorter.

Out of curiosity, would these Airfix 737-200 engines be "correct" if they were to be placed onto a 737-100 model?

Don't think so as there weren't many of them (-100s) and the early ones had the 727 type reverser.

I think Viking over on BM did a -100 (Lufthansa maybe?) with the early type reverser.
