RAF Vulture B.1

A place for our military aviation modellers to show their stuff. It may not be civil but it still has a home here

RAF Vulture B.1

Just finished a few minutes ago. This is a "what if" RAF bomber. It's a 1/72 scale B-58 Hustler, Italeri. Hairy sticks with acrylic hobby paints and random transfers from the transfer boneyard.

Now for a couple "class" pictures with a couple other recent builds, notably the Flying Ram which was painted the same up top, and a Spitfire Mk. I 'early.'

Lil Spit's camo works well when fighting over ceramic.... . . .

NOW, for some fun!!! Parasite fighter?

Thank you both!!

This was a fun build. I dispensed with the pod(s) and will use them for some rocket-ship-esque airliner or something. That helped make things go faster/smoother and it's just plain neat to be working with a B-58 Hustler. Such a gorgeous airplane.............. Hell, while I'm here, take a gander at some proposed variants that would work so very well as airliners:

There was also a proposed variant where the passengers would all ride in the freaking pod, slung underneath the plan itself, nestled betwixt them loud ass J79s.

Thanks!! Yeah, them airliners look glorious. I've been trying to find a 1/144 Hustler kit but uhhh.... THAT is easier said than done and when they ARE around, they are pricey from what I've seen...

As for this 1/72 Italrie: Fantastic aside from the cockpit canopy areas and that may only be on mine as it was a TB-58A instead of a regular B-58. The canopy doors didn't match up quite right and also one part of the fuselage was warped. Again, this may only be because it was the TB-58 or might just have been in my kit. Buuuuuuut... otherwise??? Absolutely great! I highly recommend it... good fun, good fitting... didn't have to do ANY PSR aside from the aforementioned cockpit doors. Gear goes together really nice and is very strong and well built/engineered.

Can't speak much to accuracy or detail but it looks like a Hustler to me! :D
