Hey gang, time for a quick update. I have a conversion kit, replacement engines and a new tail on hand. As of Saturday morning, I have a A330-300 winging its way over from WA to me this week, and after talking with Roy at Southern Sky models, I got in contact with Steve at Ronin, who told me that there is a new set of 1/144 KC-30A decals coming out soon. Slow and steady wins the race. Fingers crossed they come out before the end of the year.

Almost all the parts have been collected now for my KC-30. Just waiting for Ronin to release their new decal set and I'll be good to go.

Nice work man. Let's hope you don't have to wait insanely long like other sheets from them. Though they are worth it I guess :)

Now I know why you asked me for the article!

As for the tails, which one did you get? Depending on the airframe number depends on the lump where the fin meets the fuse!

All RAAF KC-30s have the post-modification 48979 tail with the larger fairing at the base of the tail and shorter height. The new tail size was introduced at Line Number 555 with 4 exceptions around that time. Our airframes start at L/N 747 (A39-001) and go up to 1183 (A39-005) for the original fleet, 006 and 007 are L/Ns 892 and 898 respectively.

The tail I got is the PAS Decals conversion tail.
