Prof that scheme looks neat, see, I told you a freighter was the go which makes this about the first time you've actually taken my advice. looking forward to seeing this on the table come club night. I like it but then again what would I know about Airliners anyway.

On behalf of the judging panel on Saturday night I must thank you for a thoroughly entertaining night of comedy and keeping the troops amused. That was very decent of you to show the members on how to build a scale model kit to keep them occupied as you know how fidgety they get when they're away from the idiot box for more than 1/2 an hour. This is a great build to follow but I would go around to the place you bought the kit off and demand that they replace all the parts that were missing. I mean when you opened the box, we all shouted "you've been robbed" owing to the box size and the little wee baggie of plastic it contained which looked lost.

That Wild Turkey 101 proof has helped me in discovering the main path route of my intestinal plumbing I never knew I had. This was nearly as good as going back to the 1960's.
I see that my two long time old mates from the North are still giving me heaps. G'day Rob and Graeme, I hope you're both sailing well.

After Wedgie's distraction it's time to get on with more model making.

Next comes the problem of the corogard panels. I bought a decal sheet for these but wasn't happy with them. There used to be a decal maker who produced good looking corogard panels but their product has become very scarce. There are a couple of other options so I bought these one from Airliner Hobby Supplies.



But I wasn't happy with this. It's a bit more like the real thing than the grey panels more usually available, but not much. The only solution was to use some of my precious Xtracolor Corogard paint instead, and that involved a lot of more masking, using the decal sheet as a template.





On with the grey primer ...

Xtracolor is an enamel paint so it's time to let things dry overnight. But it's time to do a little hand brush painting too.

The new day starts with everything ready to be put together.



Here's a photo of the model with the Xtracolor Corogard painted panel and the decal for the panel. From this angel the difference seems only in shade, but from other angles it's in the metalic tone too.



While I was buying the Aeropostale decals from Airliner Hobby Supplies I also bought a Draw decal set of the windows and doors.



And finally, we are ready to start ...



And here's what this whiteback 737-200 looks like.



I've applied some Micro Set and it's time to put the model aside for everything to set properly. Thus endeth this day's lesson.

Thanks for that HRT as I initially couldn't find it again after searching for "737-100" which of course by the Title it isn't.

The other way I eventually found it was it was part of this year's 737 Group Build but that also wasn't where I thought it was as it has already been archived in the "2018 Completed Group Builds".

Thanks for posting the link to that Britmodeler page. Very interesting. I've cut a lot of fuselage plugs in my time but it never occurred to me to use a mitre box, and I've got one too. You learn something new every second or third day.

Merde! After a nerve wracking hour or so I give up. These decals blow up as soon as you try to move them off the backing paper. The little yellow window outlines, gone. The tail decals went on okay but the fuselage title blew into half a dozen pieces. I finally got one side right, then started on the other side which did the same thing but I finally got it looking reasonable. Tthen I found parts of the first decal on my fingers, and it's too far gone to save. I put a layer or two of varnish over the decals before using them just in case, but obviously that was not enough.





I'm going to go and hide in my cave while I think of what to do next.
