737-300 Resin engines and wheel well

Postby hrtpaul » Sun Jul 29, 2018 8:40 pm

Hi peeps. I found a bloke on Facebook that does resin engines and wheel wells for the Minicraft 737-300. Apparently the wheel well will even fit the Airfix -200 with slight modification. I've been talking to him on FB and will be ordering a set of engines and 1 wheel well so I'll let you know what they're like when they turn up. Here's a couple of listings of them on eBay. He has said that ordering from him direct will get a discount.

That wheel well is really impressive, bit expensive though, but great if you want the best wheel well going

That is impressive, but at that scale and price are you really going to see much of it?

His prices look to be more than competitive as if you compare his to Braz' as even though Braz doesn't list engines for the 733/4/5 their engines for the 736/7/8/9 work out to be about $AUD 24.44 (which is about what the Minicraft kit was when it first came out!) and this bloke's work out to be about $AUD 14.87.

Good finds especially the wheel well.

(and also look at it from the point of view of buying it as a "Master" if you make your own modified copies to fit the Airfix 732.)

Do you paint your wheel wells on your models? Why? Cos if you turn the model over you can see all that detail. Same reason here. As for cost I bet you've spent more on AM stuff.

The engines and wheel wells turned up today and only took 3 weeks from Mexico. All I can say is WOW. They're even better in real life and are gonna be a great addition to any 737-300/400. The wheel wells should look awesome in any 737 including the Airfix 737-200. I've seen a build or 2 of that kit somewhere recently ;) ;) ;) I'll post some pics up in the next few days :)

"Bump"

Have you started an Airfix 737-200 with one of the Wheel Wells yet? If so how much modification was there?

If the verdict is all positive is there any chance of sharing his contact details? (especially if buying direct is cheaper than ebay!)

Nah haven't used them as yet. I wouldn't think they'd be too hard to fit in the Airfix kit though. I contacted Hectoli through Facebook so you can contact him through there if you want.

Yes he gave me his Username when I asked on ebay if he was the one behind this shown on ACAM and I thought that was his Username here but as you point out that is his Facebook Username.

I know it's probably a case of cutting my rather large nose off in spite of my face but as Graeme will tell you I'm a Luddite and will never be on Facebook. That Zukerberg bloke isn't getting any of my tiny amount of money directly or indirectly. If that Movie was anywhere near accurate one of those Twins or the Bloke he screwed over (and who later sued him and won a Settlement) should have throttled the sm@r#@r$e little Ba$#@rd!
