I've never seen 1/300 scale in aircraft before.

Would be interesting to know from the people who lost their jobs at Frog in 1976 what they think of former Eastern Bloc countries still pumping out "their" kits (but then again probably can't because of the obvious reason ...).

I'm tipping they're over it 40 years on mate seriously

Graeme can probably remember but I think the top Boxing existed in two forms? The first the original release (with inaccurate engines if I recall correctly) and the second (and subsequent releases) with "fixed up" engines. The difference being the clouds - on one they looked painted and the other they looked photographic. I think you've got the later release. Easy way to tell is compare it's engines to the other kit which is definitely a later release. Then again like Murray Walker I could be completely mistaken ...

The Zengdefu Kits were readily available for a fair while in "Crazy Clark's" in Australia. Don't know if you had (had as they went into Liquidation in 2014 or 15) them (Crazy Clark's) in Victoria or not but certainly widespread in Queensland.

There was also another mob that did 1:300 Airliners - can't recall their name but they did some different Subjects than Zengdefu and also Airfix did a run of boxing 1:300 Airliners most likely from the same moulds I'd guess.

Actually I was looking at it from the (pride/surprise/etc) perspective of the longevity of "their" (second) Javelin mould over 43 years on (especially given they only had "their" first Javelin mould in production for less than 13 odd years or so).

Anyways. These turned up today. I think Paul (oz rb fan) might be onto something with my little 737 addiction of late. Sooooo many pretty colours 8-) 8-) 8-)

For the challenge build

For the Trash Haulers theme at expo next year

And just cos it's so damn cool. Not sure I'll be able to get it up to the standard that old mate from Runway 13 did this expo though.'

Another blast from the past. About two days before my 10th birthday, my dad took me to Paddy's Market, on the corner of LaTrobe St and Elizabeth St in the city. We walked to the toy section, and there was a pile of these kits and the P-40 kits. Maybe the Harley was there too, but it didn't have wings, so I didn't notice. Anyhow, my dad bought this for me for my birthday, and I was stoked!

Fast forward 29 years, and I finally found one for sale..

Brad, look out for the '777'.

You will find it you can build is a slightly larger scale 737 out of it with a 737 tailpiece and of course a 1/300 scale 777 tailpiece. Can't recall what the engines are like.
