Will we ever see a kit of this?

Under normal circumstances Revell would be the front runner to produce a kit but given the situation they are in at the moment I wouldn't hold my breath.

(And I'm guessing that being "one meter wider" cutting up two Beluga kits and one A330 kit definitely isn't the way to go.)

I'd 3D print one, but it's an Airbus...
Pretending to do it TAC style with the big boys since 1987
Also, we don't need no steenkin' VLATs!

I started one a couple of years ago, chopping up the Beluga and A340 kits to make an A300-600R. Now I have some reference I might find it a carry on with it.

Mine is based on -300 airframe rather than the -200

Though I had planned a 4 engine version. I wonder what power plants the XL uses?

Nice. -300 length and 4 Engined would look great but engines would have to be something bigger than the "just get off the ground because of the curvature of the Earth" CFMs wouldn't they?

But being wider I'm guessing that the cross section of the XL must be different?

Engines of the XL look to be Rollers?

Yes, I did some googling and the engines on the XL are Trent 700s.

I have a spare set of GE CF-6s from a B744 that I could use for this one. Would mean doing some work with the engine pylons.

Just as well it's wider and can't be done from two Belugas and one A330/340 as aftermarket Trents would also be required adding to the cost.

Wouldn't it be an idea to save them for a C-5M? What about four RB211s from a BA Boxing of the B744 instead? (Keeps it in with the XL's move to Rollers.) Alternatively aftermarket Trent 500s like on the -500/600 would look good too but again at a cost.

Some great ideas, but since mine will be a Beluga XXL I can use the engines I already have :D

I'm sure 4 CF-6s will have enough grunt to do the job with mine

Found this on an old hard drive - a photo that Kit Spackman in the UK sent me many moons ago :
