Well being off work crook as a dog has it's advantages. I started my Aerolineas Argentinas 737 today. I'm using a very old boxing and have ordered the decals today as well. Here's where I'm at as we speak.

Gotta fill all those bloody windows so in went the clear strip windows. Once they're dry, I'll sand them all flush with the fuse.

After gluing all the doors in slightly proud of the fuse (they'll be sanded flush soon) and adding a couple of sinkers for nose weight, the fuse halves went together. I also got the wings together as well. A tip for those playing at home. When fitting the outboard flap track fairings, cut the locating pins off and glue in place. If you don't do this you'll end up with a gap between the trailing edge of the wing and the flap fairing. I didn't do this on my Ansett one I built and it sticks out like a sore thumb.

Well that's it for tonight. I sanded the panel lines, doors and windows then tried out my sprue goo for the first time for filling gaps. Until tomorrow.........

Sanded all the sprue goo flush and it worked pretty well I must say. I'll be using it again that's for sure. However there's a few pin holes for want of a better word left after sanding the sprue goo. So a thick coat of Mr Surfacer 500 over everything and we'll see how it looks after I've sanded that back. Oh and that windscreen is gonna need some filling  This kit was partly started as someone had fitted the cargo doors and the rear lefthand pax door which wasn't done very well. Therefore the rear pax door is too far in so I'll glue some .010" styrene sheet in there then sand it all flush again. Having a ball with this but that'll do for today.

I find the sprue goo is great for filling. I think I need to make up another batch. Mine has gone from goo to glug and not very useable.

Nice progress Paul

Got nothing done on this yesterday so I thought I'd better have a crack today. After all the Mr Surfacer was sanded off everything was pretty good though no doubt once I spray the primer i'll find stuff to fix up. As you can see, I got the wings and tail glued on without too much fuss. Just the usual filling and yet more sanding. I also got the engines together and all panel lines sanded off those as well. So tomorrow I'll sand what putty needs to come off, glue on and fill the engines, fill the aft L/H door and might even get a coat of primer on, ya never know. This might even get to the stage of waiting for decals if I pull my finger out 8-) 8-) 8-)

Got the engines on and the L/H rear door filled today. Pretty pleased with the progress on this one. Infact while I was waiting for stuff to dry on this one I statred the Ryanair Hertz jet. Might get this in primer by the end of the weekend though I do have my little man this weekend so who knows.

Got her in primer today. I christened the new spray booth I built today and it worked a treat. I have a bit more sanding and filling to be done before another coat of primer :)

This is coming along nicely. It's always interesting to see how others put their kits together. I only started using Mr Surfacer recently and I'm glad I finally found it. I suppose I'd best get going on mine now.

Really coming along, like the spray booth, where did you end up exhausting it?
