civilized models 1/72 "super corsair"

the second project on my bench is the new Civilized models 1/72 racer the super corsair...being a new manufacturer i was a little worried about the quality of the kits so i though i'd start the odd one of my 4(the other 3 are mustang racers)..these kits arent cheap but from what i'm seeing pretty good quality(MUCH nicer than the contrail Strega kit TOR),while i dont have a huge amount of experiance on full resin kits so far it's been a fun build.

there isnt a huge amount of parts in the kis...a few addons to the basic main parts but it all goes together pretty well.

the decals are printed backwards to that will be interesting...if anyone has advise on how they work i'd be greatfull as this is my first time using them.

Decals work the same as 'normal' waterslide decals, Paul. Soak them and then place the decal and paper (decal first) on the surface and slide the paper away. You can move them around/re-orient with some extra water.

I used some on a P-3 last year and they worked well.

well decals done....i've made a stuff up or two but it looks ok to me...thanks Ray s for the advise with the decals they are very delicate and one or two broke but i was able to get them to work to a point...the colour seems to break up in a few spots(like on the main "budweiser" down the side) i'll probably get another kit down track as i have learned alot from this one.

Look's nice, like the subject, Corsair's are one of my favorite
WWII planes. I've heard of this company, Civilized Models there's
been a lot of chatter about them lately. How's the detailing, got some
good shots of the bottom and wheel wells? How is the engine detail and
what was the canopy like. Lots of questions here, I just finished Tamiya's
1/72 Boyington bird cage Corsair a while back. Thanks and will be watching.---John

Really liking that, those wings sure look chopped down though, when I saw the resin bits, I thought the wingtips might be separate, but no, they are not there at all, gives an odd, but speedy look to a Corsair.

jayveedes, the details not bad for 1/72 and the canopy is a nice vacformed one, there no engine detail as it has a big spinner and a fairing behind it

the kit goes together pretty well for a resin short run kit

the interior is very nice though difficult to pain as the fuselage is one piece, the wheelwell are quite shallow again because the wing is one piece but overall it's a nice kit.

Greame
that Reno air racing in the early 80's for you little wings and a monster R4360 under the hood

pretty happy so far...i have stuffed up a couple of things BUT this was more to try out a new manufacture than building a show winner.....and if this is what the other 3 in my stash will build like i couldnt be happier to not only do the ones i have but buy a few more.
gear doors should be on in the next day or two
