L-1011 Tristar United decals?

Postby jayveedee » Fri Dec 08, 2017 11:19 am

I am going to purchase the Eastern Express 1/144 L-1011 and want a unique
scheme. Were there any ever printed in this scheme. I understand they didn't
fly them long and they only had 6 planes. Thanks---John

Thanks, I think in appearance the L-1011 had it all over the DC-10, just
not a good looker, sorry all you DC-10 fans. So has any decal maker ever
done the United short lived livery? Sure hope so.---John

John if you are buying the EE Kit then one of their boxings is the United one :

so two birds with one stone as they say ...

Thanks, I've been straightened out on it, United flew -500 and
Eastern Airlines flew -200. different fuselage size and wing size.
OK, thanks so much---John

Curious that list doesn't seem to show any British Airways ones, and they flew mostly -500's models, which went to the RAF
It does show -500's with the RAF, so guess they are only showing the final operator, not the original

Unfortunately, the decal quality of EE airliner decals is quite average at best.

You can get an aftermarket sheet here: http://joydecals.com/1-144-scale-decal-united-l-1011/

Cheers!

Damn, I hoping to get the ATA one, as I dispatched a few of those, and that is a decal that needs to be really good
