Hi Uros.
You'r doing a stellar job, and I know what the kit looks like (beleve me).

Unfortunately Heller did a mistake indicating the position of the air conditioner inlet.
It is on the other side, so on the right. I guess you are on time to sort things.

Keep it up.
Kind regards
Eugenio

Thanks Graeme and Eugenio!
Hmm, I haven't noticed that, thanks for poiting it out Eugenio. I have already started with painting so it is a bit late but not too late. It shouldn't be too hard to fix. I'll have a cold one and think of a plan.

Oh and Eugenio, I would love to see your dc-6, if possible.
Cheers!

Hi, Uros.
You are welcome.
Really I built a DC-7C, from the Heller kit and I had a WIP on another forum.
Due to Photobucket issue, there are no pics more. I'll upload them again when I'll find some time to do it.
Here a quick view.
Bye
Eugenio

Ah, yes! I remember this one. Wonderfull build!

As I've said,I shot some colur on this one. But first some masking needed to be done. I have precut vinyl masks from 26decals. Unfortunately they don't fit well and I don't trust vinyl anyway. I think it is not sticky enough. I came up with a plan to make my own masks. First I printed window shapes on paper, put some clear tape over it and then masking tape. With scissors I then cut them out one by one. Here are some pictures. I hope they will make more sense.

For cockpit windows, I just made copies of vinyl masks.

First layer of primer, foloved by a few more.
Image
I then sprayed a coat of alclad aluminum and begun with masking for other colours.

Here's where Eugenio pointed out a mistake I made with air conditioner inlet. Thanks for that, if there is anything else please let me know.
Fixed.

I'm waiting for primer to dry, then I will repaint this area.
At last, I then sprayed white on top.

Decals were very yellowed, so I taped them on window and left them(actualy I forgot them) there for a month. They are clear now, I just hope they won't fall apart when I put them in water.

I started with flaps also. This is something I've been putting of as it requires some serious work.

A bit of sandig was needed...

Dryfit.

With flaps started, I hope this project is not going to stall :)

That's it for now. A bit longer post this time, with a lot of I's in it. :) Hope I didnt' bore you.
Thanks for looking!
Cheers!
