DesTROYers 1/48 RAN Grumman S-2G Tracker

A place for our military aviation modellers to show their stuff. It may not be civil but it still has a home here

I hit the underside with another coat of white last and I am now much more happy with the result. It now looks more a gloss white than a dirty grey and the edges along the demarcation line are more feathered.

Then I moved onto the grey touch ups and black areas.

And now am ready to start detail painting.

A bit more work done today. Masked up some areas that appear in photos but not on the Aussie Decals sheet. Really makes it look the goods now. I also installed the undercarriage, doors and made up a new landing hook using brass tube, as it will be down and used to hold the tail up. I hope to finish the detail painting, bend up some new fuel dump pipes and have her ready to seal coat with future by tomorrow afternoon, but there is no rush as I am still waiting for the Ronin decal set to be released.

Thanks guys.
Bent up and mounted the new fuel dump tubes.

Then after painting up some more small detail pits and giving it a light rub back with micromesh, I went out to the garage and laid down some coats of Future. I'll take a look and see if it needs another light coat tomorrow night, but now it's time for the waiting game for Ronin to release the decal set.

It's all good, I cleaned it up after I took the photo. May sound strange but taking photos is a part of my quality control process. I see more in the photos than I do when looking at the model itself, sometimes. Thanks for looking out for me, Paul.
