Can you file/sand the windscreen down and then polish it? That to me sounds less work than say vacu-forming a new one.

Nope....the windscreen's a tad too small!

Use it as a master to vac-form another then.

Has it really been 6 months? Gawd, how time flies!
Anyhow, I popped the windscreen off the model, and placed it on my bench. It sat there, and sat there, and sat there, while I worked up the courage to have a crack at the new canopy bow. Eventually, I dry fit it again, and realised I didn't need to make the new bow. So I stripped the Future off it and started over. This time, I only glued the base of the windscreen, then the next day glued half of the existing bow to the back, and finally the next day did the other side. It still needs to be glued in the middle, so maybe over the weekend....once I figure out how to align the two halves properly.

Here, you can clearly see the gap at the top of the windscreen where I sanded off what I thought was flash.

The thing about the rivets is they're only on the fuselage sides and top. There's virtually no detail on the bottom!

...and the gap is filled! Once it's dry, I'll probably apply another lot of clear cement, then the sanding begins...

OK, I've been verrrrry slowly working on this as time and motivation allow, and I have to make a decision.
There are lots of rivets on the top surface and sides of this model, but none underneath, and I'm not sure whether to remove them all, and just scribe the bottom of the fuselage, or get the dry transfer rivets. Having never used the dry transfers before, I'm a bit wary of them, but at the same time, it'll be an awful lot of work to remove the existing rivets....so.....what would you gents do?

Interesting question. Do you want to represent it as the model it is, or make your model more realistic? The rivets are way too big and too large a diameter. I'm not even sure the dry transfer rivets will be small enough. Perhaps I'd try sanding them back a little and seeing how that looks, so you at least have a raised surface rivet. Are the rivet lines in the right places on upper surfaces at least?
