RAAF BAC 111

Postby tor lives » Sat Jan 07, 2017 9:38 pm

Hi guys,
With the likelihood of a 1:72 BAC 111 landing in my stash in the near future, I have been gathering my photo references.
As I had the privilege and pleasure of crewing the RAAF BAC 111 fleet for several years I really need a descent scale
RAAF BAC 111 in my collection, (I had one many moons ago.....the old Airways kit, but she has long since left my fleet). During my career I have indeed been most fortunate to have had the opportunity of crewing some of the most significant and classic jet airliners in aviation history.
Anyway, this is what I am planning:

And if ya wondering what the Prime Minister's BAC 111 looked like inside

This was the 1:72 Airways kit I built many years ago, but, as mentioned, she has long since left the fleet, (currently resides in the collection of an ex-RAAF BAC 111 pilot).

For a vacform, it wasn't a bad kit to build if I remember correctly. I have another 1:72 Airways BAC 111 in the stash, but that will become "surplus to requirement" when the new one arrives.

Pretending to do it TAC style with the big boys since 1987
Also, we don't need no steenkin' VLATs!

Nice shots Ray, I know who took that 2nd shot in your first post :D

I am working on a 75 Years of 34SQN for our Annual comp and may be dragging my AIM BAC1-11 out of the stash. I just need to work out where I will have to cut the fuselage to make it a -200.

Just started on a Proteus CV440

Sure is!

My Proteus CV-440 was a few issues with the wings, a bit of warping that I am having trouble trying to remove.

There's a thread here asking for responses for which scale you would like it in..........

State of play at the moment (Jan 2017) is that they are still considering...........
