A bit of a set-back for 2017 modelling schedule

Postby tor lives » Mon Jan 02, 2017 1:59 pm

Well.....2017 off with a bang for me.
Due to flooding, and then a major structural failure of my garage roof, following the Melbourne storms/rain deluge event of last week, my garage is now officially a disaster zone (aka "ground zero" by the attending tradies :D )

As we are now in the clean-up, recovery, and re-build phase of this event, my inside model-hobby room has now become the nominated "storage facility" for everything currently stored in the garage, (that wasn't destroyed by the tsunami that went through it), as the garage area will soon be a construction (or should I say re-construction) site.
Consequently all modelling and associated activities will now be officially "on hold" until further notice :( .
This does not bode well for my Group Build and Model Expo projects, plans, and deadlines :(
TOR
PS: The irony is, I always thought that this would happen in the model room first, given how much stress and pressure is on the wall holding up the "curtain rail of doom". :D

Bad luck there TOR, actually the real irony is that structural failure may well be the product of crap tradie work!, I hope a magnificent phoenix arises from the ashes

cheers

Oh that does look pretty bad mate! I didn't realise that it's a structural issue, not just water damage you have - ARRGGGHHHH! Is that wood rot in that truss - gawd! Well, life is just dealing with a succession of challenges and this is a beaut for ya! It could have been a lot worse of course, at least the entire roof didn't collapse. Hang in there buddy!

Bugger. :o That looks really bad. :(
Sorry to hear of your disaster Ray.
They say every cloud has a silver lining, but that one had a nasty tongue

Hope it leads to much better things . Good luck with the rebuild.

Surely that damage is covered by home insurance Ray?
There's a definite structural fault there with your trusses.
Hope it's sorted quickly.

Looks can be deceiving. Any word back yet mate from the bastards at your insurance company?
