At last, and with Wal's great assistance, my pre-war Airlines of Australia DC-3, the first DC-3 to fly in Australia, is finally in the finished list. It didn't turn out too bad. You can see Wal's work on the tail and over the top of the door. This is an Esci kit with Red Roo (?) single row engines, modified propellers and spinners (I'm not sure it the Kyilla flew with spinners when it first arrived in Australia but it certainly had them when it was transferred over to ANA and, anyhow, how many DC-3s do you see with spinners.
Here is the DC-2 I made earlier this year, the Holyman Airways 'Bungana' which was the first DC-2 to fly in Australia. It's the MPM kit and all the decals come courtesy of my inkjet printer and computer software.
Put them together with the DC-2 at the front and it looks bigger than the DC-3. That's perspective for you.
I'm enjoying these all metal airliners and Santa delivered me a F-Rsin DC-5 for Christmas so I can feel the ANA one coming on real soon now - in 1/144 of course.
