A Christmas message from TOR

Postby tor lives » Sat Dec 24, 2016 6:07 pm

Hi all,
Well....it's that time of the year again when the big fella in red has priority airways clearance, and is on his way to us with lots of model kits for all, so I would like to take this opportunity to wish all A/CAMers, their families, and friends a wonderful Christmas and a happy and safe New Year. It has certainly been an "interesting" year of highs and lows for our A/CAM site. We had a very successful Model Expo this year with our Ansett display receiving much positive response and good feedback, (and, once again, a big thanks to all those who contributed to that success). Additionally, some of our A/CAMers also scored well in the model competitions, (and congrats to all those talented modellers who received trophies).
On the down side, we also experienced two very frustrating and disappointing extended "outages" of the site due to some on-going significant technical issues, (which hopeful are now behind us, and thanks for your patience with these two tech events).
At this point, I think it is appropriate and important that during this festive season we all spare a thought for, and raise a glass to all those Emergency Services and ADF personnel who are out there, on duty, and protecting our well-being, property, and way of life in general, so that we may enjoy the Christmas period with our family and friends knowing that we are being defended, and our safety is as assured as it can be, (especially in light of the foiled planned Christmas Day Melbourne terror attacks), ......thanks guys and girls, your efforts are very much appreciated and please stay safe out there.
I would also like to thank our sponsors who, despite our relatively small site membership number, continue to stand-by and support us and the A/CAM concept.
Finally, I would like to thank each and everyone of you.......that fiercely loyal little bunch of active A/CAM "die-hards" who keep this site ticking along and viable.....thank you!!!
Merry Christmas guys!!!

Thank you for your thoughts also by me from the under-attack-Europe.
May never happen in your Country what we experimented in France, England, Germany, Spain and other places.
Fortunately, in Italy, police works well and often prevents sad situations. I'm sure in Australia too and perhaps better.
Marry Christmas to the A/CAM community.

I'm sure that we all thank you, young TOR, for establishing this site for us. Personally it has allowed me to make models that I would not otherwise have been able to make (for example the mighty VH-WAL's DC-3 help today) and learned more about making civil and airliner models than I thought possible. I/We appreciate all you've done for us.

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, well except for dad stacking up the "loot" for the little 'uns!

Great message mate and wishing you and all fellow A/CAM'ers a very Merry Christmas & Happy New Year! Thoughts indeed go out to all ADF members out on the sharp end defending our country's interests and freedoms and to all those police, ambo's, firies, medico's, etc also on shift and away from their families over Christmas.

Cheers one and all!
