Well.....through general lack of interest, I declare this GB idea now officially "dead in the water". I won't be going ahead with it at this time.

How many registered users/active users are there here?

On other sites they require a minimum number of interested people to be able to run a GB. For BM that is just to get the GB up for a vote at the end of the year. ARC is a little different and they allow for 2 or 3 GBs every 6 months. So once the interest count reaches the minimum it is usually run in the next 6 month slot.

As for numbers, over at BritModeller they need 30 people for a General GB and 20 for a Single type GB, ARC is 20 or 25 for their GBs. Considering each of their member bases is about 10,000 registered users each how many do you think would be reasonable here?

To keep track of how many is interested they usually count /list participants at the beginning of the respective thread.

So just wondering what your idea of enough is considering the number of users here?

G'day Ray,
Thanks for that info. Based upon your supplied information, and the fact that we have just over 150 members (and that's it's own issue :? ), I am thinking at least 8-10 interested/committed members would be needed to justify any formal/structered GB....otherwise I just don't see the point of going to the effort of setting-up and administering any GB.
So here is the deal.....if I get 8-10 members willing to commit to this GB I will resurrect the idea.

Why would you not go ahead and order/build this anyway. Seems like a great subject.

True. But I think that's the "magic" of a Group Build - it pushes you over the edge of ones modelling slumber to join in and build something.

Other reason no hurry to buy the decals is my A300 kit is/kits are 1200 kms away. Maybe if Graeme still has one for sale it would be closer at about 600 kms away!

(And here I was thinking it would be more likely someone might be questioning why I was posting at 3:46 am!)

(Answer : About to start streaming Qualifying for the Mexican Grand Prix which after obtaining a great stream I duly fell asleep and only woke to view the result and even missed the Sun rising!)

OK I'm committed.

(Or was that "have been comitted"?)

No seriously if this does go ahead I'm in for the original A300B. (and maybe something else if it pushes me out of my modelling slumber.)
