I thought your -300 wing roots looked -400ish Ray :D

So Phase 1 of putty is over.

After some sanding, onto phase 2 or more putty...

I am also attempting to reshape the crown of the cockpit roof along with removing the hump on the nose.

Hi Ray,
Actually, given all the marvellous work you are doing with this 747 project, you have sort of guilted  me into having another look at the wing-to-body fairings on my 747-300. If you can see your way clear to put in all this effort for the sake of accuracy..... I guess there is no excuse for me not to.
Your re-engineering of this kit is really impressive and inspirational.

I'm with TOR this is impressive... just shows me how much I still have to learn as I have a lot of the older Revell 744 kits... I don't know if i want to go through and try to fix them though lol

Cheers guys,

Tim, you will find no kit is perfect and some are less perfect than others! :D

Hopefully at the last round of filling and sanding.

I found the Braz PW4000 engines I was going to use for the last failed attempt. They will get some attention shortly

I think I have the nose and cockpit crown shape all sorted.

I also got the final 2 engine poor blocks removed and stuck together

I removed the APU exhaust and will replace it with some tube

Digging this one out of the past, I progressed it some time ago but did not update this thread.

I also refreshed the old Photobucket links with the current Flickr links for the previous images posted.

I got the wings on

And it looks like the engine assembly was finished and the fuselage primed

I was revisiting this thread as I am also about to resurrect a 'few' of my stalled 747 builds.

You have motivated me Ray !!!
Time to get moving on my long-stalled 1:144 Saudi Royal Flight 747-300.
Its a conversion of the Revell 747-400. I realize though that there are some things I am just going to have to live with, (like the 400 wing roots).
Ray, I think you provided the sat hump for this build, (if it was you, thanks again).

Nice to see Ray, most likely it was me. The kit it belonged to is front and centre in the above group shot. I'm still not sure which livery it will wear. I removed the CF-6s to replace them with PWs but may put the CFs back on.
