Lethality has got nothing to do with it
As said previously, ANY 8-legged creature dares venture into my house, and it can expect a MASSIVE pre-emptive chemical strike, (indeed, out of all proportion to the size of the creature concerned  ). I HATE ALL f@#king spiders.

ARE YOU MENTAL? Only good spider is a dead spider! Other insects I can handle with bug spray. SPIDERS ARE EVIL AND NOT OF THIS EARTH!

I live in a farming area, spiders are everywhere. Huntsman's are common, we had one living in the hall a while back which I couldn't get into a four litre ice cream container due to its size but I eventually
managed to coax it into the container and put it back outside in one of our tree lines. I'm always flicking the buggers out of our wood for the fireplace.
Redbacks and White tails are another matter. When we lived in Cairns, I used to trail ride and rode full belt into one of those bird eating spiders and its nest, that was a fun day........not.

A couple of years ago I saw a Death Adder bite someone. It was at my cricket clubs Christmas party and the snake handlers we had in for the kids brought all the venomous ones; brown, black, tiger etc. Fortunately though they all had their venom sacks surgically removed, so he was handling them with no stick and it turned around and nailed him on the hand as he was putting it back in the carry box. One of the girls was walking around with 3 pythons around her neck.
