They're starting to come back on line. A32-349 was up and flying yesterday.

yes getting sorted, can't find out if it is only the RAAF ones. or are some civil ones also affected.

I am hearing through my industry contacts that there may be several VH-registered aircraft so far affected.

So who's been sanding parts with primer on them? It's kinda like the F-111, the cockpit module we have at Moorabbin is leased to the museum under certain guidelines, one is we cannot sand the surface as the metal powder you produce is carcinogenic.

It is a from new problem. The bypass valves were painted internally. When the contamination was found, it was the first time that these valves had been removed since the planes were new. Some spares were also inspected and found to be also painted internally. It has nothing to do with sanding paint, the engines aren't running when any sanding is done. The contaminated part is in the pressurisation line, bypassing the cabin air around or through a cooler, depending on temp selected. There is no contamination between the valve and the engine, but contamination from the valve into the cabin.
