Good choices for both of the planes.

Incidentally, modelbear, if you ever decide you want to sell your Cessna, I'll give her a good home :)

I'm not quite at that point yet but if I do want to sell the kit, I will let you know.

Wow, I had completely forgotten about that series of kits, good work, I really think you should take the Military option for the finish though
I mean who else would have a Hutt River Province Air Force

I've made a little bit of progress today - working from home helps a lot!
Last night, I painted the "off" white in the cockpit, and the white on the seats. This morning, I masked off the cockpit and seats, and painted the blue. At this stage, I should probably point out that the cockpit colours are purely from my imagination as I can't find *any* cockpit photos of the example I'm building. Anyhow, pretty much every light aircraft I've flown has had an off-white plastic cockpit liner in the roof and down the sides, which then changes to vinyl at the top of the door trim. Some have carpet under that, which is what I'm going for. Not sure that I've pulled it off convincingly, but that's the nature of the beast. I reckon it'll look ok once she's all buttoned up..

Here's the cockpit floor/rear seats. I've got some overspray to clean up, but otherwise it looks ok. I reckon it also needs a coat of semi-gloss to tone things down a bit and even things out.

I'm having some issues with photobucket - for some reason, it's rotating all the pictures I upload by 180 degrees, so I have to edit them once uploaded....
Anyhow, a bit of a disaster this morning - went to check on my plane parts, and found this:

and this!

It looks like the Vallejo blue has had some kind of reaction with the Gunze paint underneath....frustrating, because I've now got to strip it *all* back and start over.
Modelling is fun....

Time to start your own "Curtain Rail of Doom" perhaps. If I recall, that's how mine got started (a few f@#k ups on a few different models that I will "just hang up here for the time being, and then get back to em later" :D ). But seriously.....plod on through, theses little challenges are why we are modellers and not just assemblers.
As to your photobucket issue......mmmmmm, I don't know what to tell ya :? .

Dude, I've had major issues using Vallejo and Gunze on the same model. I had a horiz stab on a P-40E do a major banana on me and bend up 90 deg! There was a little heat from a lamp, but not much - enough to amplify the different drying/shrinking rates between the two paints. I will NEVER use Vallejo again - GUNZE has never disappointed me, Vallejo did the very first time. In fairness, Vallejo may be just dandy when used by themselves - it does appear to suffer from major shrinkage issues though.

To be fair to Vallejo, I really bought them because they brush far better than Gunze or Tamiya, and for that reason, they'll be great in the cockpit for switches and stuff. I reckon once I've stripped the paint, I'll do it all again with only Gunze or Tamiya..
