It was one of the worlds great airlines...and it had allot of great people..I remember so much about it that it feels like only yesterday I was there in the group......I don't find myself looking at much old stuff on Ansett, I have fond memories of being part of it all though.... To look back too far and lament too much is depressing..those who live in the past are depressed, those that live in the future are too anxious... Those that live in the current moment are most happy..

There's always going to be non airline people ( experts ) who have a negative opinion on AN... Unless you've worked in the industry for as long as I have and worked for the AN group and with the magnificent people within it....those opinions mean Jack Schidt.

I rarely flew AN because, back in the good old days, QF and TN were state owned and I supported that philosophy. However, I still remember very fondly the first time I flew in an A.320, it was on AN between Melbourne and Perth and I was very impressed by the airliner and the service. Almost enough to turn me to the dark side, but not quite.

The Ansett display was very impressive with some outstanding models. Had some of them been entered in competitions I'm sure they would have done well. The ones I liked the best were the little ones, the Lockheed, the Airspeed and the Piaggio. All models that I hope to make sometime down the track. The only one missing was the Universal and, having the kit myself, I can understand why.

I was also impressed by the two categories that A/Cam sponsored. The civil category was very well entered and I noted a number of racers that might go nicely with our display next year. Also some very nice airliners. Well done everyone.

Well wasn't Expo a hoot - probably the most entertaining ever for me! A hearty well done to Ray, Knotty and all those who put the Ansett display together - very impressive! Some impressive marshalling was done to fit all those Ansett beauties on the A/CAM "apron"! Ol' Reg sure would have been pleased. Thanks Ray for the couple of lunches - always a great touch and having a chat with the A/CAM'ers over a burger and coffee really adds to the Expo experience to really appreciated mate!

Some hugely impressive models on display, raising the bar even higher! Eric Gallier once again hauled away so many trophies it has reportedly changed the local gravitational constant! Chatting to the one time pilot of Eric's Sabre was a thrill too - thanks Mr. Brick! So, once the dust settles a little more on Expo 2016, it will be back to the model room lads to create next years entries and display models!

Cheers and great catching up with you all!

Though I only managed to make it one day this year, I had a blast. Loved catching up with every one and having a good laugh at Pauls expense. (How did he fail that exam? Was it in Pigeon?) I even bought some decals for an airliner, so who knows what will be entered next year.

Cheers...

Don't worry Troy, I'm sure it would have had you buggered at spelling your own name let alone completing that exam. Oh and it's spelt Pidgin  8-) 8-) 8-)
