Ansett 727-200

Postby avgeek07 » Sat Jun 04, 2016 5:50 pm

This was officially the first model I have completed in over 10 to 12 years... maybe even 13 or 14.
This was a fun build for me and I look forward to doing more hasegawa 727s... I have heaps of them now. I have built one before and that's currently in for a refurbishment.

That looks very nice. How did you do the leading edges?

Hi leigh,

I taped them up with masking tape and painted them with a brush, they aren't perfect but they are good enough .
Though I felt i was using the wrong masking tape, so today I went to Hobbyrama and bought some different sized Tamiya masking tapes :D

and thankyou!!!

Cheers

Nice one Tim!!!!
And what a great subject to re-enter the model-building hobby with.
A sexy 727 in a sexy colour scheme.....it's all good!!!

Nice job Tim , looks very nice . I can still hear the deep rumble of the APU standing under the wing putting fuel on these great aircraft.your model brings back nothing but good memories of the 727. :)

Thankyou so much gents very much appreciate it.... the AN 727s were quite special, sadly I never got to ride in one or a TN 727 either, but I used to watch them fly in and out of Darwin all the time
Some very fond memories and happy days!
and to top it off the decals used were the original kit decals.... amazing longevity in those hasegawa ones... the details set are from Draw decal

Cheers
