"But Cap'n, the engines won't take it! "

"Shudup Scotty! Warp Factor 6!"

In all seriousness, this is that wonderful moment when I see this look of complete amazement and thrill on my kids faces when on that occasional big trip to Ireland to see family. They love it and I don't mind saying ol' Dad hasn't got sick of it yet either!

Go Cap'n Go! Go levers all the way forward!

Fair and favourable winds and happy landings!

Cheers

Adam

Ta,
Believe it or not...it's the sim!

I scored a 4 hour practice sim by myself the other night.
Masochism...dual engine failures.

I must have a crack at our C208 sim. It's pretty basic but should still be fun :)

For years I viewed sims with angst and terror.. They were always the big white box of death. Unless your in an airline and face thesethings every few months, you never really can grasp the feeling of being scrutinised and checked to the level required.. The most eminent brain surgeons are not required to be tested the way airline crew are.

I remember my final command sim check..I walked into to the box with blinkers on and muttered under my breath for the checkie to fail anything he wants, but today your going to lose. I'm going to win. Probably the best attitude to have for a check.

I don't get to hop in the sim as much as salty does, different requirements, different airline.. I face the box of death every 6 months, but when I do get in it, it's not for fun. There's a job to be done.
It's hard for me to get used to these changing times... I remember when the air was clean and the sex was dirty..

I do a four hour session every 3 months, and annual flight check every 12 months, a medical every 12 months and Emergency Procedures check every 12 months.
Checkies do another 3 checks every year.

It all ends when you retire.

Yours are too hard.

A-380 is an old bloke's jet, and the sim checks are designed accordingly.
