how does the AA one compare lengthwise to the FLY and Airfix ones?, just curious to know how decals would go.

Hi Graeme,
The Hawkeye decals might be for the airfix DC-9 the length is ok but the overwing exits and doors dont line up perfect.

Hi all some more work to show
The wings and horizontal stabs are cleaned up and attached with 5 minute epoxy and i also spent a good couple of hours carefully sanding and checking the alignment of the front and rear engine halves before glueing those together and filling the seam with instant cement based filler.
So far she has been a dream to build :D

I think i will build this one with the rear stairs down as they look really nice with the PE support.

Cheers Lee....

G'day all
Firstly sorry for the rubbish photos but my digital camera has s**t itself so im left with my phones 0.1 pixel quality oh well it might look like period photos of a real Ansett DC-9 anyway i made a change to Kurts thrust reversers as his are the angled type used in America and Europe but as there was no risk of the Australian DC-9's sucking in snow and ice under reverse thrust they were left in the original level layout so i cut the exhaust nozzles of the engine and pylon and epoxied them back on level next i primed everything in Tamiya fine white primer masked up and airbrushed the red and black stripes and tail let me say that the fuselage stripes are not as easy as they look to get perfect when trying to paint them but the hard part is done now all that is needed is to lay a thin line of masking tape just below the stripes and paint the polished aluminium underside and the wings ect

Engine on the right is the level style reverser

Back soon with more "Period" photos :)
